It's a pretty quiet evening at the shrine -- other than a small group of girls who came by earlier to buy love charms, it's mostly just been Nozomi and the pigeons. It's not so bad, as she's always been the type to take things easy, but after three hours with nothing to do, the tedium is starting to get to her. She's already mopped up the floors on the inside, and swept all the leaves from the yard. At this point, Nozomi's just brushing her broom over pebbles on the ground, yawning without bothering to cover it. With another two hours of her shift to go, she's starting to wonder how bad it'd be to sneak in a quick nap...

As usual, fashionably late to arrive-- not that there's anything to be late to-- is someone who looks more suited to going out with friends than to making a trip to the shrine. Most of her school uniform seems to be intact, though the top buttons of her shirt are undone, and she'd long shed her blazer. (All she ever did was complain about it, anyway.) "I didn't keep you waiting, did I?" Even an innocent question like that, Itsuki manages to make sound like she means something else by it.

It wasn't like she'd told Nozomi that she was coming by, though, so unless she really could see the future, she probably hadn't been waiting at all.

"Ah, it's Itsuki-chan!" At the sight of her, Nozomi's face lights right up. Though their relationship is the sort that often leaves others wondering whether they're incredibly close friends or simply on a neverending quest to rile each other up, one thing's for certain: Nozomi always looks happy to see her. It's never boring with Itsuki around!

She walks over to greet her, grinning from ear to ear. "Did you come to pay your respects to the gods? Or get a good luck charm for finals?" She leans in just a bit-- "Or could it be that you could tell I was lonely, so you came by to visit me?"

"Oh, how did you guess?" With a look of mock surprise on her face, Itsuki twirls a lock of hair around her finger, as if feigning some kind of flirtatious embarrassment. Not that it works particularly well for someone with her reputation. She steps forward, takes another step past Nozomi, and then turns on her heel, circling her arms around Nozomi's shoulders. "I was just so worried about you, here all alone in the cold... I couldn't bear it!"

"Ahh, I'm so lucky to have a friend who looks out for me!" Nozomi releases one hand from around the broom, so she can instead wrap that arm around Itsuki's waist and pull her closer. Her eyelashes droop in a look that would've been the very picture of seduction, were it not for the goofy lopsided grin stretched across her lips. "Are you going to keep me warm, then?"

Itsuki goes more than willingly, though she takes a short step forward to keep herself steady-- as much as she likes being this close to Nozomi, it wouldn't be quite as nice to be close because Itsuki had toppled the both of them. She leans, somewhat, against Nozomi, but keeps herself thankfully upright. "I was hoping you'd do the same for me, too." She does get so unbearably lonely without her friend, after all.

"Ooh, so bold!" Nozomi exclaims with a laugh, and lets go of Itsuki the next moment. "Well, it's a slow day today, so if you come inside I can get us some tea. How about it?"

She shouldn't, technically, but... nobody's around anyway, so what harm can a few minutes' break do? Nozomi's always been a great break enthusiast!

Her eyes positively sparkle at the offer. More about the going inside with Nozomi and less about the tea, but...well, she's not going to turn down food or drinks, either. "Oh, you know I couldn't say no to you!" With her tone, it's easy to tell she didn't really have to think too hard about it, though. "And it's awfully cold, so it should give us a chance to warm up, right?"

That could easily be taken the wrong way. And Itsuki's absolutely the kind of girl who meant for it to sound that way, too.

"Yup, that's just what I had in mind!" Nozomi beams right back at her. She's never so much as batted an eyelid at any of Itsuki's innuendos, to the point where one is left to wonder whether she's entirely oblivious or, on the opposite end of the scale, all too aware.

She leads her inside, gesturing for her to sit on a mat by the table as she goes off to make the tea. Her voice carries over from the other room, chipper on the verge of sing-song.

"What've you been up to today? You skipped last class again."

It's so kind of Nozomi to play along-- at least, she's quite sure that's how it goes. Though at the same time, Itsuki wants to see just how far she can push things-- not for any real reason, she's pretty sure, but just to know that she can.

She half-sprawls on the floor, legs stretched out, making herself comfortable on the mat. "Mmm, I didn't feel like going." Of course, that only answers Nozomi's second statement. "I just don't think I could pay attention with so many other things on my mind!"

And who knows just what kind of things that's referring to.

"So many things, huh?" Nozomi laughs. She's well-familiar with Itsuki's habit of implying things just so to see if she rises to the bait, and honestly, Nozomi's never had any qualms about indulging her. "Like what, like what?"
